Basketball scoreboard for your TV
Your game.
Your scoreboard.
CourtCast turns any TV with a Roku into a big, clean scoreboard for practices, youth games, rec leagues and driveway pickup. Run the score and the clock with the remote you already have. It works without internet, and the complete scoreboard is free.
- Free scoreboard
- Works offline
- No account
- No ads or tracking
Try it. On the TV you do the same with LEFT, RIGHT and OK.
11 looks, one scoreboard
Pick a theme that fits the night
Every theme keeps the scores and clock readable from across the gym. Standard and High contrast are free; the rest come with Premium.
How a game runs
From the couch to the final buzzer
- Name the teamsQuick Game asks for two names, the number of periods and their length. Everything else has sensible defaults.
- Start the clockThe clock opens paused. Press START when the ball goes up, PAUSE on the whistle.
- Score as you go+1, +2 and +3 sit under each team. Moving between buttons never changes a score; only OK does.
- Finish and rematchAt 0:00 the clock button becomes NEXT PERIOD, OVERTIME or FINAL. The final score stays up until you choose what’s next.

Scoring that forgives
Mistakes happen when the gym is loud.
- UNDO reverses the last basket, foul, timeout or possession change
- Correct any score to an exact number
- Optional confirmation before a score goes down
- Fouls, timeouts left and a possession marker
A clock you can trust
Time is measured, not counted in ticks, so it doesn’t drift.
- Start, pause, resume, set an exact time, adjust by seconds
- Tenths of a second in the final minute
- Any number of periods, any length, overtime
- Premium: an independent shot clock
Never loses the game
CourtCast saves as you go.
- If the TV is switched off, Resume Game brings everything back
- The clock always comes back paused, never running
- Practice Mode with its own timer
- Final summary with period-by-period scores
Any Roku remote
Arrows, OK and Back. That’s all you need.
Every feature works with the basic remote. If yours has them, PLAY runs the clock, REPLAY undoes and * opens Game Controls.
Choose a control profile: Standard, Quick Scoring (UP and DOWN jump between teams), Navigation Only, or turn shortcuts on and off yourself. Remote Test Mode lets a new volunteer practice on a sample game that can’t touch the real one.

Questions
FAQ
Does CourtCast need Wi-Fi in the gym?
No. Scoring, the clock, saving and resuming all work offline. You only need a connection to buy Premium or to check a Premium purchase.
Can I use it for official games?
CourtCast is a recreational and practice scoreboard. It isn’t certified timing equipment and isn’t approved by any league. If your competition requires certified equipment, use that.
What happens if the TV turns off mid-game?
The game saves as you play. Open CourtCast again and choose Resume Game. Scores, fouls, period and the clock come back, with the clock paused so nothing runs by surprise.
The Roku screensaver came on. Did I lose time?
Press any button to come back. The clock is based on elapsed time, so it shows the correct time when you return. You can lengthen the screensaver wait time in your Roku’s settings.
My remote doesn’t have Play or Replay buttons.
That’s fine. Every action is available with the arrow keys and OK. The extra buttons are optional shortcuts.
How do I get a refund for Premium?
Premium is sold and billed by Roku, so refund requests go through Roku’s support and follow Roku’s refund policies.
Is Premium a subscription?
No. You pay once and keep it on your Roku account.

Privacy Policy
COURTCAST PRIVACY POLICY
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
1. WHO WE ARE
This Privacy Policy explains how [YOUR LEGAL NAME OR COMPANY NAME] ("we", "us",
"our") handles information in connection with:
(a) the CourtCast application for Roku streaming devices (the "App"), including
the optional CourtCast Premium upgrade; and
(b) the CourtCast website at [WEBSITE URL] (the "Website"); and
(c) any support communication you send us.
Together these are the "Services". We are the party responsible for the
Services. Contact details are in Section 15.
2. THE SHORT VERSION
* The App has no user accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and
no tracking.
* We do not operate any server or database for the App. The App does not send
your scores, team names, settings or game history to us or to anyone else.
* Everything you enter in the App is stored only on your Roku device.
* If you buy CourtCast Premium, the purchase is handled entirely by Roku
through its Roku Pay service. We do not receive your payment card or billing
details.
* We never sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for
targeted advertising.
3. INFORMATION THE APP STORES ON YOUR DEVICE
The App saves the following information locally, in the storage area that the
Roku operating system provides to each app (the "registry"), so that the App can
work and remember your choices:
* the game in progress: team names, scores, fouls, timeouts, possession,
period, clock time and a short list of recent actions (used for Undo);
* a practice session (timer and practice scores);
* the most recent final score;
* your preferences (theme, display, clock, remote-control and default game
settings);
* if you have Premium: saved team names and colors, saved game presets, and a
history of up to 12 finished games (team names, final score, date and
period scores);
* a marker recording that Roku has confirmed your Premium purchase, so that
Premium keeps working when the Roku store cannot be reached.
This information stays on your device. We cannot see it, access it, copy it,
back it up or restore it. It is not linked to your name, email address or Roku
account by us.
Team names are free text. Please do not enter information you would not want
shown on a screen, and avoid entering personal information about other people,
especially children (for example, full names of minors).
How to delete it: you can delete individual games, teams, presets and history
inside the App, reset preferences in Settings, or remove the App from your Roku
device. Removing the App or performing a factory reset on the device may
permanently erase all locally stored information. We provide no cloud backup.
4. PURCHASES THROUGH ROKU PAY
CourtCast Premium is an optional one-time purchase sold through Roku's in-app
purchasing system (Roku Pay). When you open the Premium screen, buy Premium, or
when the App checks whether Premium has been purchased, the App uses a
component supplied by Roku that communicates with Roku's services.
* Roku processes the transaction, your payment method and your Roku account.
Roku's handling of that information is governed by Roku's own privacy
policy and terms, which are available on Roku's website.
* Through the Roku developer tools, we may receive limited transaction
information that Roku makes available to app publishers, such as the
product purchased, the date, the price, the country and a transaction
identifier. We use it only to provide Premium, handle refunds and support
requests, keep accounting and tax records, and meet legal obligations.
* The App asks Roku whether Premium has been purchased when it starts and
when you choose "Check purchase again". This check returns whether the
product is owned; the App does not request your name, email or address.
5. INFORMATION ROKU AND OTHER THIRD PARTIES COLLECT
Your Roku device and the Roku platform may collect information about your use of
the device and of apps (for example device identifiers, usage and diagnostic
data) under Roku's own policies. That collection is performed by Roku, not by us,
and we do not control it. Please review Roku's privacy policy and your Roku
device's privacy settings.
The App does not include any third-party software development kits for
advertising, analytics, attribution, crash reporting or social media.
6. THE WEBSITE
The Website is an informational page. We do not use advertising cookies,
analytics tools, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or social-media plugins on it.
The company that hosts the Website may automatically record standard technical
information when the page is requested, such as IP address, browser type, the
page requested and the date and time ("server logs"). Hosting providers use
these logs to deliver the page, keep it secure and prevent abuse. We do not use
them to identify or profile visitors. [If your host gives you access to server
logs, state here how long they are kept, e.g. "Logs are deleted after 30 days."]
The Website displays its text in typefaces served by Google Fonts. To show
them, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, which
receives your IP address and browser information as part of that request.
Google states that it does not use Google Fonts requests to build advertising
profiles; see Google's own privacy policy for details. [If you remove Google
Fonts from the Website, delete this paragraph.]
If the Website links to other sites (for example Roku), those sites have their
own privacy practices.
7. WHEN YOU CONTACT US
If you email us or otherwise contact us, we receive the information you choose
to send, such as your email address, your name, your message and any
attachments. We use it only to answer you, to provide support, to handle
refunds or legal requests, and to improve the App. We keep support
correspondence for as long as needed for those purposes and then delete it,
normally within [24] months after the conversation ends, unless a longer period
is required by law.
8. HOW WE USE INFORMATION AND OUR LEGAL BASES
We use the limited information described in Sections 4, 6 and 7 to:
* provide the App and Premium (performance of a contract);
* respond to requests and provide support (performance of a contract or our
legitimate interest in helping users);
* keep the Services secure and prevent fraud or abuse (legitimate interests);
* keep financial, tax and accounting records and comply with law (legal
obligation).
We do not use personal information for automated decision-making that produces
legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not create advertising
profiles.
9. SHARING
We do not sell personal information. We do not "share" personal information for
cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are defined in California
law). We may disclose the limited information we hold only:
* to service providers who help us run the Website or our email, under
obligations to protect it and use it only for us;
* to professional advisers (such as lawyers and accountants) under duties of
confidentiality;
* when required by law, court order or a valid request of a public authority,
or to protect rights, property or safety;
* to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of all or
part of our business, subject to this Policy.
10. CHILDREN
The App can be used by people of all ages, including youth teams. The App does
not collect personal information from anyone, including children, and it has
no chat, social features, accounts or advertising. In-app purchases are
completed through Roku, which applies its own account controls (such as PIN
protection) that parents can set.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or
the minimum age in your country) through the Website or by email. If you
believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will
delete it.
11. SECURITY
Because the App keeps your data on your device and does not transmit it to us,
the security of that data depends largely on the security of your Roku device
and network. For information we hold (such as support emails), we use
reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to its
sensitivity. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
12. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
We are based in [COUNTRY, e.g. Canada]. If you contact us from another country,
your message may be processed in our country and in countries where our email
or hosting providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws.
Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
13. RETENTION
* Data in the App: kept on your device until you delete it, remove the App
or reset the device. We never hold a copy.
* Purchase records we receive from Roku: kept as long as required for tax,
accounting and legal purposes (typically up to [7] years).
* Support emails: see Section 7.
* Website server logs: as set by our hosting provider (see Section 6).
14. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete,
restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, to data
portability, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data-protection
authority. These include rights under, for example, the EU and UK General Data
Protection Regulation, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic
Documents Act (PIPEDA) and provincial laws such as Alberta's Personal
Information Protection Act and Quebec's Law 25, and U.S. state laws such as the
California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA.
Because the App does not send data to us, we hold no in-app data about you; you
control it directly on your device (see Section 3). For information we do hold
(support emails or purchase records), contact us using Section 15. We will
verify the request as reasonably needed and respond within the time required by
applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your
rights. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection
authority (for example, in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of
Canada or your provincial commissioner).

16. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy, for example if the App gains new features.
We will post the updated version on the Website with a new "Last updated" date.
If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will give
more prominent notice (for example on the Website or in the App's About screen)
before the change takes effect. We will not apply a material change
retroactively without your consent where consent is required by law.

Terms of Use
COURTCAST TERMS OF USE
(End-User License Agreement)
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. SECTIONS 13 (DISCLAIMERS) AND 14 (LIMITATION
OF LIABILITY) LIMIT OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS
RIGHTS YOU HAVE UNDER CONSUMER-PROTECTION LAWS THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED.
1. AGREEMENT
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and
[YOUR LEGAL NAME OR COMPANY NAME] ("we", "us", "our") about your use of:
* the CourtCast application for Roku streaming devices (the "App"),
* the optional CourtCast Premium upgrade ("Premium"), and
* the CourtCast website at [WEBSITE URL] (the "Website"),
together, the "Services". By installing, opening or using the App, buying
Premium, or using the Website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy
Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
If you use the Services on behalf of a school, team, league, club or other
organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for it, and
"you" includes that organization.
2. ELIGIBILITY AND YOUNGER USERS
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have the
permission of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms for you.
Parents and guardians are responsible for the use of the Services, and for any
purchases made through Roku, by children in their care.
3. THE ROKU PLATFORM
The App runs on devices and a platform owned and operated by Roku, Inc. and its
affiliates ("Roku"). Your use of your Roku device, your Roku account and the Roku
Channel Store is also governed by Roku's own terms and policies. Roku is not a
party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App. Where Roku's terms that
apply to apps or purchases conflict with these Terms, Roku's terms control to
the extent of the conflict.
4. LICENSE
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive,
non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the
App on Roku devices you own or control, for your personal, educational,
recreational or organizational use (for example running a scoreboard at a
practice, game or event).
The App is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights not
expressly granted to you.
5. RESTRICTIONS
You must not, and must not help anyone else to:
(a) copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the App, except as
permitted by law;
(b) decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the App, except to the extent
that law expressly permits this despite this restriction;
(c) sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense, distribute or publish the App or
Premium features separately from the Roku Channel Store;
(d) remove, bypass or interfere with Premium entitlement checks, or use
Premium features you have not obtained through Roku;
(e) remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other notices;
(f) use the Services in violation of any law or the rights of others; or
(g) display content through the App that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful,
harassing, obscene or infringing.
6. FREE FEATURES AND PREMIUM
6.1 Free features. The basic scoreboard is free. We may improve, change or
remove free features over time.
6.2 Premium. Premium is an optional, one-time purchase that unlocks additional
features described in the App and on the Website at the time of purchase.
It is not a subscription and does not renew.
6.3 Purchase through Roku. Premium is sold and billed by Roku through Roku Pay.
Price, taxes, currency, payment methods, purchase confirmation, PIN
controls and receipts are handled by Roku under Roku's terms. We do not
receive your payment details.
6.4 Entitlement. Premium is associated with the Roku account used to buy it and
is available on Roku devices linked to that account, as supported by Roku.
Checking or restoring Premium requires an internet connection to Roku. If
Roku's services are unavailable, the App may not be able to confirm
Premium; the free features continue to work.
6.5 "Lifetime" meaning. "Lifetime" or "one-time" means you will not be charged
again for the Premium features you bought, for as long as we make the App
available and the Roku platform supports it. It does not mean the App will
be available or updated forever (see Section 11).
6.6 Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Roku according to Roku's refund
policies and applicable law. Except where required by law, purchases are
non-refundable. Statutory rights you have as a consumer (for example
rights in the EU, UK, Australia or Canada) are not affected.
6.7 Price and feature changes. We may change Premium's price or contents for
future purchases. Changes do not remove features from a purchase already
made, except as described in Section 11 or where required by law, security
or platform rules.
7. NOT OFFICIAL TIMING OR SCORING EQUIPMENT
CourtCast is a recreational and practice scoreboard. It is not certified,
approved or endorsed as official timing, scoring or shot-clock equipment by any
league, association or governing body.
* You are responsible for confirming whether CourtCast is acceptable for your
event. Do not rely on it where rules require certified equipment, or where
timing or scoring errors could cause injury, financial loss or disputed
results.
* The clock depends on your Roku device, its operating system and its
display. It can be affected by device performance, power loss, network or
software updates, the Roku screensaver, system messages and user error.
* The person operating the App is responsible for the accuracy of the scores,
clock and other information displayed. Use Undo and score correction to fix
mistakes, and keep an independent record if results matter.
8. YOUR DATA AND CONTENT
8.1 Local storage. Scores, team names, settings, saved teams, presets and game
history are stored only on your Roku device, as described in the Privacy
Policy. We do not have access to them and cannot recover them.
8.2 Data loss. Locally stored data may be lost if you remove the App, reset the
device, if the device fails, or in other circumstances outside our control.
No backup is provided. You are responsible for keeping any records you need.
8.3 Your content. Team names and other text you enter remain yours. You are
responsible for what you enter and display, including making sure you have
any rights or permissions needed (for example to show names of players or
organizations on a screen in a public venue). Avoid entering personal
information about others, especially minors.
9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND TRADEMARKS
The App, the Website, the CourtCast name and logo, the designs, themes, text and
software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual
property laws.
Roku is a trademark of Roku, Inc. NBA, WNBA, NCAA, FIBA and any other league,
team or event names are trademarks of their respective owners. CourtCast is not
affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Roku, Inc. or any league, team,
association or governing body. Theme names such as "Pro Arena", "Varsity
Stadium" and "Broadcast Scorebug" describe visual styles only and do not
indicate any affiliation.
10. FEEDBACK
If you send us suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use them without
restriction or payment to you. We are not obliged to use any feedback.
11. UPDATES, AVAILABILITY AND DISCONTINUATION
We may release updates that add, change or remove features, fix problems or
respond to changes in the Roku platform or the law. Some updates may be needed
for the App to keep working. We do not guarantee that the App or the Website
will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, or that the App will
remain available in the Roku Channel Store or compatible with every Roku device
or software version. We may discontinue the App or Website at any time. If we
discontinue the App, a copy already installed on your device may continue to
work for some time, but we are not obliged to keep supporting it.
12. HEALTH AND SAFETY
The App can display bright colors, high contrast and a brief flashing effect at
the end of a period. If you or anyone watching has photosensitive epilepsy or a
similar condition, turn on Settings > Display > Reduce animations and consult a
doctor if needed. Position screens and cables safely, especially in venues and
near playing areas.
13. DISCLAIMERS
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND
"AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS, AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY,
MERCHANTABLE QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, QUIET
ENJOYMENT AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE CLOCK OR SCORES WILL
BE ACCURATE, THAT THE SERVICES WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, OR THAT DATA WILL
NOT BE LOST.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or
conditions. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions above apply only to the
extent permitted, and any warranty or condition that cannot be excluded is
limited to the shortest period and the remedy allowed by law.
14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
(a) WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL,
CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS,
REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR FOR THE OUTCOME OF ANY GAME, MATCH,
TOURNAMENT, BET, WAGER OR COMPETITION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE
SERVICES, EVEN IF WE WERE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES; AND
(b) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT
EXCEED THE GREATER OF (i) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR PREMIUM IN THE TWELVE
(12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (ii) TEN
CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD $10).
These limits apply whatever the legal theory (contract, tort including
negligence, statute or otherwise). They do not limit liability for death or
personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent
misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or
excluded by law.
15. INDEMNITY
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold
harmless us and our officers, employees and agents from claims, damages,
losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) your
misuse of the Services, (b) content you display through the App, (c) your use
of the App at an event where certified equipment was required, or (d) your
breach of these Terms or of law. This section does not apply to consumers where
local law does not permit it.
16. TERMINATION
These Terms apply until ended. You may end them at any time by deleting the App.
We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these Terms. On
termination you must stop using the App. Sections 7, 8.2, 9, 10 and 13 to 23
survive termination. Termination does not affect refund rights you have under
Roku's policies or law.
17. EXPORT AND SANCTIONS
You may not use the Services where prohibited by applicable export-control or
sanctions laws, or if you are a person with whom dealings are prohibited under
those laws.
18. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated Terms on the Website with a
new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, give reasonable advance
notice (for example on the Website or in the App). Changes do not apply
retroactively. If you continue to use the Services after changes take effect,
you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Services.
19. CONSUMER RIGHTS
If you are a consumer, you may have rights under the laws of the place where you
live that these Terms cannot change, including rights relating to the quality of
digital content and to remedies. These Terms do not affect those rights.
20. DISPUTES
Please contact us first (Section 23) so we can try to resolve any concern
informally. We will try to respond within 30 days. Questions about billing,
purchase confirmation and refunds should also be raised with Roku, which
processes all payments.
21. GOVERNING LAW AND COURTS
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of [PROVINCE/STATE, e.g.
Alberta] and the federal laws of [COUNTRY, e.g. Canada] that apply there,
without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The United Nations Convention on
Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Subject to Section 19, the courts located in [CITY, e.g. Calgary, Alberta] have
exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, and you and we
submit to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also bring
proceedings in the courts of the place where you live, and mandatory consumer
protections of that place continue to apply.
22. GENERAL
* Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire
agreement between you and us about the Services.
* Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be
enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the rest will remain in
effect.
* No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
* Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may
transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets,
or by operation of law, without reducing your rights.
* Force majeure. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by
events beyond our reasonable control, including platform outages.
* Third parties. Except as stated for Roku in Section 3, no third party has
rights under these Terms.
* Language. These Terms are written in English. If translated, the English
version controls to the extent permitted by law. [If you distribute in
Quebec, consult a lawyer about French-language requirements.]
* Headings are for convenience only.
